Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise, its five year mission to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life, and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before. Star Trek Original Series Theme - 293K - 50s

While all Star Trek series are represented here, the prime directive and interest of this site is The Original Series. Inside that directive is Marc Cushman and his meticulously researched These Are The Voyages trilogy (2004 pages in total). Such a detailed history of The Original Series deserves exclusive attention on the very first page of this site. The internet provides a large volume of information about all Star Trek series, and aside from the massive startrek.com, I know there are hundreds of fan sites out there with unique designs and areas of interest. Thank you for taking the time to visit this one. - Curtis Fox, startrekpeople.com

Marc Cushman
Marc met Gene Roddenberry in 1981 and they became fast friends. Marc was fortunate to have several meals at the Roddenberry house and got to know Gene's wife, Majel and his son Rod. It was early 1983 that Gene started to convince Marc to write these books based on the production documents donated by Gene and Robert H. Justman to the UCLA Archives. Marc spent an accumulative of eight months over three years pouring over those documents. He was required to wear white cotton gloves and was not allowed to photocopy any of the papers. Marc could only make notes with a lined, legal yellow pad and a pencil.

My Reviews
I am not a speed-reader, and that is fortunate. These Are The Voyages TOS, Season One is the type of book that demands a slow enjoyable read. Think back to the most satisfying meal you ever had, and then think of the sadness that you may have felt when it was all gone. Trying not to get through it too fast, I had to (at times, unsuccessfully) force myself to close the book and take time to ponder and fully absorb what I read. I say "unsuccessfully", because whenever I went to put it down, I would think, "just one more page". Wow! It would be a bargain at ten times the set price. These Are The Voyages TOS, Season One is very well organized and extremely detailed beyond anything I've ever seen for any television series. I expected a book full of facts about the first year original series episodes, but there is a lot more: the history of Gene, Majel, William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelly, James Doohan, Nichelle Nichols, George Takei, [Walter Koenig was not in season one, but I'm looking forward to reading about his connection in the second book of the trilogy.], Grace Lee Whitney, the stars in the pilots, the guest stars, massive behind the scenes support, people who turned down Star Trek, and why, along with the history of TV itself, Desilu, Lucille Ball, and on and on. And that's just in the first few chapters! Again, Wow!!! Fans the world over (including this one) will be making gracious comments about Marc's work for years to come.

On These Are The Voyages TOS, Season Two, I must say that I love this book as much if not more than the first. Marc Cushman is obviously a man who treasures Star Trek as much as any trekkie/trekker could. His meticulous attention to detail brings value to these books that cannot be measured in dollars and cents.
